Wales squad grateful for sponsorship from leading Welsh law firm
The Wales Women’s Under-19s cricket squad have just returned from a memorable 10-day tour of Dubai and Abu Dhabi.
The squad of 16 reached the final of the Women’s Arch Trophy, a competition which saw the team celebrate a nail-biting one-run victory over Essex in their opening contest.
Wales also enjoyed a comprehensive victory over a UAE international XI although they also suffered defeats to Loughborough
But it was an impress tournament for Wales captain Lauren Parfitt who was named player of the tournament.
South Wales solicitors Peter Lynn and partners sponsored the Under-19s training tops in Dubai and also supplied the squad with bags.
It is a long standing partnership with the Cricket Wales Under-19s and reflects Senior Partner Peter Lynn’s passion for cricket.
“Cricket is a real passion of mine and I am a strong believer in assisting in any way we as a firm can in supporting a team like the Welsh Women’s Under-19 team,” said Peter.
“I was delighted to see how well they did and that narrow win over Essex must have been a great match to be involved in.
John Derrick, Cricket Wales Performance Manager, said he was delighted with PL&P’s continuing support.
“Sponsorship like this is priceless for us in terms of being able to take squads away on tours abroad,” said John.
“I know Peter cares passionately about cricket and sport in general and we are all very grateful for his continued support of the Under 19s.”
