Leading regional law firm Peter Lynn and Partners Solicitors has made Swansea Women’s Aid one of their Charities of the Year for 2024.
The charity supports women, with or without children, who are affected by domestic abuse provides specialist accommodation and community services across Swansea, relying on grant funding and donations to provide support to those in need.
“We are thrilled to have the support of Peter Lynn and Partners Solicitors,” said Shelley Pearce, Business Development Manager at the charity. “Help such as this helps us with the day-to-day running of the services we provide and we are truly grateful for their generosity.”
With a comprehensive portfolio of services on offer, the charity provides everything from practical and emotional support to children aged 5-17 years old who have witnessed or have been subject to abuse, to one-to-one support for women experiencing abuse, and support for women being exploited by the sex industry.
“Unfortunately, our services are increasing in demand year on year, so we are continuously looking for support to underpin the charity and help as many people as possible,” Shelley continued.
As well as financial support, the law firm will also give people using the charity’s services direct access to a lawyer to help with any legal matter, as Solicitor and Family Law expert Georgina Arthure explained.
“Our firm covers all areas of law, so no matter the legal need, we will be on hand to help, and our Family Law team in particular will offer a mix of drop-in sessions and one-to-one meetings to offer legal advice and help navigate legal aid for those who need it.”
With support already taking place in the form of a financial contribution, the law firm will undertake a series of fundraising events throughout 2024 to help the charity as much as possible.
